“Il contatto fisico è l’impatto che si ha ogni volta che la persona

viene legata. Si grida ma non perché si è folli ma perché si

conoscono i metodi e la durata della coercizione. Trovarsi lì

inermi senza poter muovere liberamente il proprio corpo è

allucinante.”

“Seminfermo legato” è il titolo della prima opera di Giulio Vanacore, rinchiuso in manicomio giudiziario per sette anni. Trasferito nella Casa di Reclusione di Rebibbia (RM) ha partecipato al laboratorio artistico del “Progetto Ulisse”.
Tutte le opere di Vanacore illustrano la condizione mortificante delle persone recluse nei manicomi  giudiziari e raccontano gli effetti sul corpo degli strumenti di controllo psichiatrico.

“The physical impact is the first reaction you have when the person is bond. You cry out and scream out loud not because you're insane, but because you know the methods and duration of the coercion. Being there, helpless and bond, unable to move your body is just crazy”.
“Seminfermo legato” (Partial infirm bond) is the title of the first of Vanacore's works. He spent seven years in a judiciary asylum before being moved to Rebibbia, where he took part in “Progetto Ulisse” art lab.
All of Vanacore's works illustrate the humiliating condition of people sectioned in judiciary asylums and the effects on the body of the psychiatric control devices.
